Turning Tragedy Into Hope

It appears the story of Humboldt Broncos player Logan Boulet donating his organs after Friday’s crash has inspired many Ontarians to become donors themselves.

The 21-year-old defenceman from Lethbridge, Alberta was among the 15 people who died when their junior hockey team’s bus crashed with a truck enroute to a playoff game in Nipawin, Saskatchewan.

Relatives said Boulet was kept on life support until his organs could be donated and that six people would immediately benefit.

Ontario’s Trillium Gift of Life Network says more than 180 people registered online to become donors on Sunday, nearly triple the number from two weeks previous.
