Today is Ipod Day!
In 2001, when CD’s were king, a tiny device took the music world by storm.
Enter the ipod, a tiny durable device capable of hosting most people’s entire CD collecting in one place. With a price tag of $399, for the first time ever it was possible to have any song you wanted with a push of a button. In January of the same year, Apple launched itunes as a piece meal music service.
iPod Day celebrates the events described above, and has been a recognition of the ambitions of its founder Steve Jobs and the company the he helped rise from modest computing company to an international electronics powerhouse. The first iPod was sold on November 10th, 2001, and the world has never been the same.
