“relationship visibility”= “relationship insecurity” ??
As soon as I say it, a certain couple in your circle of friends will pop into your head: The couple who are constantly posting lovey-dovey pics and messages about each other. But according to research, that pair might not be “#couplegoals personified” as much as it appears. Our online posting habits are closely associated with what social scientists call “relationship visibility” ― the extent to which we make our relationships public. And having very high “relationship visibility” and over-posting about a partner may be a mask for relationship insecurity, according to the study published in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin. Researchers recruited 108 couples to keep a daily diary about their relationship for two weeks and found that when people felt more insecure about their partner’s feelings, they tended to make their relationships more visible online.
