Happy Treaty Day!!
October is the beginning of Mi’kmaq History Month in Nova Scotia, and to help start the month off, we celebrate Treaty Day. A day celebrating the Anniversary of the 1752 Treaty of Friendship and Peace, signed between Jean Baptiste Cope, Chief Sachem.
The purpose of Treaty Day is to promote public awareness about the Mi’kmaw culture and heritage for all Nova Scotians.
