Last week here at MAX FM I mentioned an article that I read on-line regarding the rising cost of school supplies. The article states that one in four families can’t afford to send their kids back to school. Many families will get supplies, but at the cost of the phone bill or the power bill. Especially families with multiple children in school and the growing list of supplies they need.
That got me thinking…..what if we could all help just a little.
I mentioned on air that anyone who was out doing back to school shopping, who could afford it, if they could pick up and extra item or two they could really help out. I’m asking folks to drop off any extra supplies they have here at 318 Charlotte St in Sydney (The radio building). It doesn’t have to much. Every little bit would make a difference. We are going to make sure that we get those supplies into the hands of families who could really use them.
This morning we had a woman come in with three bags of supplies. I want to say thank you. And thank you to anyone who could drop off even a single item. Remember, a little goes a long way. It takes a village to raise a child
